CY 2023 GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
Iron EagleX Inc (IEX) measured and established a baseline of our greenhouse gas emissions for Calendar Year 2022 for all facilities leased and controlled by the company.
IEX’s GHG emissions report provides annual measurement of our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, as well as our Scope 3 emissions each year. IEX attests that the Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions were calculated in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
In 2022, IEX’s baseline Scope 1 and 2 emissions measured approximately 62.96 metric tons CO2e. Its baseline Scope 3 emissions measured approximately 385.70 metric tons CO2e. The entirety of IEX’s emissions is from the electricity used in the facilities we lease, which is commercial office space, and from employee business travel and commuting.
In 2023, IEX’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions measured approximately 62.96 metric tons of CO2e. Its Scope 3 emissions measured approximately 488.01 metric tons of CO2e. We had no change in the number or size of our facilities in 2023.
In 2023 our Scope 3 business travel emissions were reduced by approximately 33%, but our employee commute emissions increased by 33% because our employee count grew by over 25% (152 to 205 employees). Additionally, there was a decrease in our ability to work from home due to evolving post COVID customer requirements.
REDUCTION TARGETS
IEX is committed to further reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and our impact on the climate and will establish annual reduction targets balanced against our projected operations growth as we become a large business. We believe that establishing and meeting short and mid-term goals will enable us to achieve a reduction in our emissions to net-zero by or before 2030.
